Home Update: A New Nursery

The nursery isn't exactly new, after all, Ryan is almost 18 months old...but...it looks like new! Ryan gracefully adjusted to his temporary bedroom, which happens to be the other room that we've painted in the house. And while it wouldn't make a bad nursery, we think he's gotten pretty partial to his front of the house view. (All the better for peeking at who is coming to his house). Without further ado, I give you how we spent our Valentine's Day/President's Day weekend... (jealous? :)) Here's what we had to work with: The lovely builder's paint that has probably been here since the house was built in 2001, dilapidated blinds, and sad remnants of curtains and curtain rods were screaming for some updates. We went with our usual white ceiling and trim, and although green can be a fairly risky endeavor for wall color, I really liked the idea of pulling the green out of Ryan's pooh furnishings. Plus, it's a little bit bright and pretty soothing all at the same time which seems perfect for a nursery. After lots of sorting through paint samples, we settled on Pastel Sage. Since everything was already out of the room, we also decided it was the perfect chance to give our new carpet steamer its first workout. Here's how everything looks now, complete with new blinds, curtains and old furniture and wall hangings. Everything looks so much cleaner and brighter, and Ryan seems to like it, so I think all around, this paint job was a success!
