Picture Update: Lauren!

After briefly mentioning Lauren in the last post, we'll call this one her official welcome to the blog and Internet picture world!  Lauren's arrival and first week are documented here and in slideshow form here.  Since we believe in cute and cuddly baby pictures, these are definitely safe for work.

Ryan welcomes his baby sister at the hospital

The adjustment from a family of three to a family of four has gone much more smoothly than we had anticipated. Lauren is a very calm baby and protests rarely, and even then only when not being held by Mommy or Daddy.  Ryan adores his baby sister - the first day after we brought her home, the first thing he did when he woke up was run into her room to check on her.  Unfortunately, she was in our room, so his second stop was our bed :).  He's already looking out for her - turning on the evaporator (also known as vibration) on her bouncy seat and letting her know "It's ok, Lauren, your big brother's here!" when she gets sad.

One week old at Aunt Cynthia and Uncle Brian's wedding

Despite a few extra weight checks for our slim little lady, she is very healthy. At her last weight check she had gained a whole pound in only two weeks so we're done with those for awhile!  She's also doing pretty well with sleeping at night, so life as new parents for the second time doesn't get much better than this.  Enjoy!
