My New Friend - Mother Nature

Just one week after we got 8 or so inches of snow, Mother Nature is sending us some more amazing weather. This time it's in the seventies! There are lots of things to love about spring, but one of the best parts is that we can have our windows open! Fortunately for me, although Eric is allergic to everything, he loves getting some fresh air as much as I do, and we can't help but open windows on days like these. The vinyl windows in our new house, that actually have screens on them makes it all the more pleasant. (Our townhouse had one window screen and one door screen for the entire house...not exactly ideal for clearing the air.) Something else exciting about never having spent a spring in this house yet is that we have all these flowers poking their little leaves out of the ground, but we have no idea what they have in store for us! Well, maybe not no idea, but very little idea. After scouting my parents' garden, I think I've all but determined that our mysterious flowers are tulips. And boy are there a lot of them (unfortunately along with a lot of weeds :-p). Now the mystery will be a) what color are they and b) am I actually right since I know less than nothing about flowers... Finally, we kicked off the spring season with a couple days of grilling - pork chops and burgers - yum! Not that we don't use it all winter...I send Eric out there with his hat, gloves and grill light, but there's something even more delicious about the first spring grill. Our grill was a wedding present from my Grandma and it has turned out to be quite the present - thanks for all the dinners! :) And to you mother nature, thanks for the delightful days, my first taste of spring is a good one!
